Two suggestions: 1000 snmp variables might not fit into one SNMP packet
(udp). Try increasing the "MTU" setting of Net::SNMP.

I never used it but the exact number of interfaces is IF-MIB:ifNumber or
1.3.6.1.2.1.2.1.0

If you cannot query all interfaces with in one query you can get the
oids for the query of the remaining interfaces from the response: use
the oids of the last oid in the response.
