[rrd-users] update using time 893376000 when last update time is 962163997

I have a mrtg data exported into a file containing many rrtdtool update
commands, here are the first six lines of the file:

rrdtool update will not let me put this data into the rrd; it complains:
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 962163997 when last update time
is 962165562 (minimum one second step)
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 962163695 when last update time
is 962165562 (minimum one second step)
ERROR: illegal attempt to update using time 962163600 when last update time
is 962165562 (minimum one second step)

is 962165562 (minimum one second step)

for every attempt to put the data in. Now, why is my update illegal, since
there is more than one second betwee the timestamps I specify and the last
update? Perhaps I am misreading the error, and the timestamp must be more
recent that than last update? Can I load historical data into the rrd?
