[rrd-users] Fetching a specific data point

Hello
Is there an easy way, given a specific time, to fetch the value of a DS at
that time given the CF ? 
Or the average over a specified time period ?
I want to extract data out of rrds on the fly for use with different
graphing software.
(Sorry Tobi, boss has asked for bar/column charts aswell!)
