I guess you can "chose" from one:

Use "rrdtool graph" without any graph element, just a PRINT
(not a GPRINT).  The resulting value should be used in an
external script which will use the value in the next script.

Just make sure to use fixed start and end times, not "now"
or the default (which happens to be "now") in both iterations.
