[rrd-users] Q's about data files

I have a few scripts that are currently feeding data into a MySQL db.
Does rrd have the ability to read out those values in tables/columns and
graph the results?  If so, can someone point me to a document describing
the configuration needed?  Will the graphed values be real data or
averages? 

I am not a current RRD user.
