[rrd-users] how to graph the sum of two variables?

Hi,
I' ve read the manual of mrtg.
I says that is possible to have, as target, the sum of two or more
variables.
I'd like to graph the sum of two variables and I tried this target:

Target[prova]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.6.2:passw at 194.153.172.18:::::2   +
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.6.3:passw at 194.153.172.18:::::2

but it didn't work!

But if I use:

Target[prova]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.6.2&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.6.3:passw at 194.153.172.18::::
:2

It works well.

Where is the problem?
