Hmm, my point was more: copy and paste the errors.
The problem is probably in talking snmp to your devices and not in mrtg.
Have you setup your router for snmp? (Cisco -> snmp-server community...)
Try this first:
>From your command line do: snmpwalk <ip of device> communitystring
system
That is for instance: snmpwalk 10.11.11.12 public system
And see if it returns anything. If not:
- your router isn't running a snmp agent
- your router is not configured for snmp appropriately
- an access-list is blocking you
- you're using the wrong community.
Please note the communitystring is a password. Don't use "public". Any
hacker can guess that.

SNMPWALK errors.....
or if you know another way to gather aggregate traffic into one graph,
then please tell me. I essentially have 6 interfaces spread out on 6
different routers that I need all on one graph.

Subject: [rrd-users] another mrtg newbie question (aggregate graphs)
-
I would like to make a graph of the aggregate traffic from 6 different
interfaces on 6 different routers, but I am getting errors on how to do
this. cfgmaker keeps giving me SNMPWALK errors.
the command I was using was:
../cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /home/httpd/html/mrtg/testagg2' --global
'Options[_]: bits, growright' --global 'WithPeak[_]: ymwd' --global
'AbsMax[_]: 7250000' --ifref=descr --output
/usr/local/mrtg-2.9.4/cfg/testagg2.cfg interface/public at router.place.zyx
interface/public at router.place.xyz interface/public at router.place.xyz
Could anyone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.....
