Yes, the error message is quite self explanatory; don't try to update more
than once per second.

In cases where I will be getting data fast like you seem to be, I collect it
in my own script then dump out an average every 5 minutes for rrdtool to
read.

I recieve this when I mistakenly try to update the same rrd twice in
less than a second
