[rrd-users] graphs > 1 yr

I was trying to make a graph that spans 5 years, and rrdtool doesn't quite
seem to display the labels properly. It tries to show all the months, and it
just ends up as a jumbeled mess. It would probably be better if for anything
over 18 months or so it would just display the year.

On that same note, does anyone have experience with rra files that big? I'm
collecting data on 1 minute intervals, and this graph is actually a 5-year
graph of 10 minute intervals (262800 rows), for AVG MIN and MAX. The rra also
stores Daily (1 minute), Weekly (10 minute), Monthly (1 hour), and Yearly (6
hour) points for AVG, MIN and MAX, in 6.5MB.

I haven't really had a chance to do any testing yet (I'm going to populate it
with sample data shortly), but are there going to be any problems using a
dataset that big? Mostly the 5-year graph will be used for history, to be
able to 'zoom' in on a day/week that happened earlier. Would there any
problems moving that up to a 10 or 15-year length?

Thanks
ttyl, greg
