Duh, my mistake.  "-r" was already used in rrdtool graph so the
option to use is different:  "-S 1800" or "--step 1800".

Probably not, but I am not sure.


The docs for 1.0.49 say:

"By default rrdgraph calculates the width of one pixel in the time
 domain and tries to get data at that resolution from the RRD.
"

I always try to match the amount of time with the amount of pixels.
Maybe you can do the same and see if that helps.

Make sure to check that it works.  If you are too late, you loose
your precious data.  You seem to understand why this workaround
works so I need not explain.
