Yes, I realise that I would have to script it. However, I was hoping someone
could help me with the syntax

I have been tinkering with this for a while, using Perl, but being a novice,
cannot figure out what the loop structure would be...

Use a script (shell, perl, etc) to build a script that will call the 
`rrdtool create file.rrd....etc stuff`
