[rrd-users] new user to rrdtool

hello.

I am a new user to rrdtool, and I need some help.
All I want to do is give to rrdtool values for 7 variables
(protocol traffic variables) and have a graphical output.

the values I give to variables are bytes count for specific protocols
(http, ftp etc), and I want to visualize these values over a period of 
one day, lets say.

could anyone give me a simple example doing this with rrdtool? 
I am a bit confused with the parameters I must use...
