[rrd-users] Re: problems installing rrd ...

alex (and others?),

my background is in managing a whole pile of boxes and keep
them as vanilla as possible to keep them working (and
supported by sun), so this is a new thing for me. i've seen
and installed open-source s/w before but it's been REALLY
easy to install - as i expected this to be.

i was told (i've been working here for a WHOLE 8 days now),
to install this piece of s/w. i must admit i don't really
understand what's going on here, as i followed the
destructions (at least i THOUGHT i did!) from the w/s.  but
then i haven't looked through the configure or make scripts,
but i was hoping that i could just install this - as every
one does say it's so easy!

what SHOULD i have done to get these include files and
library files in 'normal' places?
