Paul,

Thanks for the response. I have been using 1.2 for several months myself
and check on the original release date, it was released on Mon, 25 Apr
2005. While I agree this is not years ago there are other rpms included in
FC4 that are much younger. Just wondering if anyone on this list has an
inside on how rpms for the Fedora project are built and what releases they
decide on using. I guess also if anyone knows when 1.2.x will be included
in the Fedora rpm list.

Doing a little research on the Fedora site I found that they keep a list of
the people who maintain the builds in the Fedora Extras section. Here is
the person listed for rrdtool found on this site:

http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/owners/owners.list?root=extras&view=markup

Fedora Extras|rrdtool|Round Robin Database Tool to store and display
time-series data|matthias at rpmforge.net|extras-qa at fedoraproject.org|

Just wondering.....

Because it's still fairly new.

Hello,

I am doing a Fedora Core 4 install and trying to keep it easy to
maintain
by using only packages that can up installed via yum/rpm. I did the
yum
install rrdtool and it installed version 1.0.49. Any reason the
default
FC4 is not using the 1.2.x version of rrdtool?
