[rrd-users] Day number instead of name

Hi,

If I do kind of long plots, the label on the x-axis does not "scale"
very well, e.g.:

Is there a way to make the label look like
|...|...|...|...|...|...|
  3   4   5   6   7   8

Instead of
|...|...|...|...|...|...|
 Thu     Sat     Mon
