[rrd-users] gd package depend?

I was looking at the ebuild we have for rrdtool and noticed there was a
runtime dep for gd. I looked through your source tarball docs and
couldn't find a reference for needing that package at all. Was that
something that was needed many ages ago and not needed anymore, or what
is the story behind that? I'd like to take out that dep if we don't need
it anymore on rrdtool :)
