I just ran it again after changing the line to:
use lib qw( C:\rrdtool\bindings\perl-shared );

I'm not sure if using the M$ backslashes works in this scenario. Is that 
even the right path? Its quite different from your example. I'm not perl 
savvy but I didn't get any errors and the resulting PNGs look the same.
