I am upgrading my application from generating .gif files with rrdtool 1.0.49, to generating .png files with rrdtool 1.2.12. I installed rrdtool 1.2.12 on Solaris 8, using gcc 3.2.2, and following the rrdbuild docs, with libraries going into $BUILD_DIR/lb and static linking. All libraries were downloaded from the rrdtool web site. When I run the example 4charts.pl
I get the following output:
./4charts.pl
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
This script has created 4charts.png in the current directory
This demonstrates the use of the TIME and % RPN operators
All 4 charts are produced but each has strange output in the .png file. The least affected is 4charts-S.png. It has a large vertical X at the beginning of the "Value A" and "Value B" text at the bottom of the graph. Other charts with using line graphs are almost unreadable with vertical lines extending beyond the borders of the graph area each time the line grap moves vertically. 4charts-L.png is essentially filled with vertical lines and is unreadable.
I suspect something is not right with one of the library installs but cannot determine what is wrong. Fresh installs have not resolved the issue. Any help is very much appreciated.
Doug
