Nope.
The doco for trend (http://www.steveshipway.org/software/rrd/ext/trend.txt) states that
" It does not predict patterns or curves."
I even examined the code and the best I could determine from it's code was that it smoothed the existing points (similar to what TREND in rrd does).

If you are using MRTG to collect the data you can use the trend plugin
with routers2.cgi.
