[rrd-users] Problem building Fedora Extras rrdtool RPM on RHEL5 x86_64

I'm trying to rebuild the rrdtool 1.2.23-6 source RPM from Fedora 6 extras
on an RHEL5 x86_64 box. Given that RHEL5 is based on FC6, I would have
expected this to just work, but no such luck. While trying to build the PHP
portion it dies with:

checking build system type... Invalid configuration
`x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu': machine `x86_64-redhat' not recognized
checking for ranlib... ranlib
checking for ld used by GCC... /usr/bin/ld
checking if the linker (/usr/bin/ld) is GNU ld... yes
checking for BSD-compatible nm... /usr/bin/nm -B
checking whether ln -s works... yes
updating cache ./config.cache
loading cache ./config.cache within ltconfig
ltconfig: you must specify a host type if you use `--no-verify'
Try `ltconfig --help' for more information.
configure: error: libtool configure failed
error: Bad exit status from /tmp/rpm-tmp.76055 (%build)

Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks.
