[rrd-users] Large-interval data is not displaying as I expected

Just wanted to follow up this thread, for the benefit of anyone
looking through the archives, by stating that the workaround did fix
the problem for me.Now my cron job runs at 9AM local time, which is
midnight UTC throughout the year.

This was the situation before I changed the cron job:

Five days later, the new data points are all neatly aligned on integer
boundaries:

The lesson for me here is to pay attention to the normalization step,
