[smokeping-users] Understanding SmokePing Graphs..

Hi,
I have just started using Smokeping and have searched through the
documentation but I cannot figure out , how to interpret the Greyed bars
in Smokeping graphs ?
E.g  Each Median line has some associated vertical light\medium\dark
greyed bar , what does that mean ?
