Hi,
I am resubmitting this e-mail for Records Purposes, even though I found the
problem... :)
I'm anxiously awaiting SmokePing ver2 to be added to the FreeBSD Ports Tree.
Problem is indeed compatibility with the RRD-Tool.
---------------------------------------------------
Hi Guys,
On Friday (so happened to be the 13'th), I ran a portupgrade on our "Latency
Monitoring" Server (SmokePing of course), and since then I get:
"WARNING: ISG::ParseConfig is obsolete! Use Config::Grammar instead." when I
try to start SmokePing.
Weird thing is that a week ago, I also ran a "portupgrade" on this server,
and SmokePing updated itself to 1.40! It still worked after a reboot.
Anyway, based on some "google-ing" I only came across this post on the 3'rd
of May, by Steve Bondy, where he also reported the same problem. However, he
has a RRD-Tool compilation problem as well.
NOTE: Keep reading after Steve's e-mail....

RedHat 9 server fine. But a newer server is giving me fits. This one is
Fedora Core 3, smokeping 1.40, rrdtool 1.2.1 and perl 5.8.5. (Note that
SELinux is disabled)

I was wondering if any of the following ports are causing this strange
behavior:
p5-HTML-Parser-3.45 Perl5 module for parsing HTML documents
p5-PodParser-1.28_2 Modules to work with POD (Plain Old Documentation)
These are ALL the ports (based on a portupgrade summary), that is running on
this server:
Note: I've sorted it alphabetically for easier navigation....

Any assistance would be highly appreciated. :)
NOTE: All previous problems I encountered with SmokePing was related to the
RRD-Tool. I've already reinstalled the RRD-Tool, with no success. :(
Please help....
Thanx
