Not for small setups at least (around 50 hosts). I don't use it and never 
noticed any problems with speed in the web interface.

Copy the sample configuration file "config.dist" to "config", remove all the 
default entries from "config" (everything from "+ World" onwards), add your own 
entry like this:

+ MyHost

menu = MyHost
title = My Host
host = my.host.name.com
