I have also put the alerts statement in the config file for the targets.

  -------------------------config------------------------
  +++ HighSchools2
  menu = High Schools
title = WAN router at CPS Region 2 High school sites
alerts = bigloss,startloss,rttdetect
  ++++ 1840
menu = Clemente Community Academy H S
title = Clemente Community Academy H S (cps-2-high-1840-rtr-01)
host = w.x.y.z
++++  106a
menu = Jones Alternate (F.K.A Near North Career Magnet HS)
title = Jones Alternate (F.K.A Near North Career Magnet HS) (cps-2-high-106a-rtr-01)
host = a.b.c.d

  Hi all,

I have configured Smokeping 2.04 for sending email alerts if latency or packet loss exceeds a threshold. I have specified the smtp server name in the config file along with the TO and FROM addresses. I have put the IP address of the smtp server in the /etc/hosts file (Linux). I can ping the smtp server from the smokeping host.

I am not getting any emails. I see some alerts in the /var/log/messages file.

Please provide me some clues as to what I am missing or how I can test.

thanks
Srinivas
