hmmm maybe the best thing is the setup a NEW smokeping install
alongside your existing one ... and copy the etc directory ... in
the config file, look for lines with '/' in them ... these are the
path names of 'interesting files' which you may have to adjust ...

make sure to run smokeping with --log. in the log you will see if
there are problems with the number of targets ...
