[smokeping-users] Smokeping Help | Master Slave config

Hello Smokeping users,

 

I need your help, I'm not able to tie up a slave to a master and I don't
know why.

 

I've following the configuration guidelines.

 

1 problem is the permissions problem and the other is the "we did not
get config from the master. Maybe we are not configured as a slave for
any of the targets on the master ?" although its not correct.

 

Please help

 


1.1             Master configuration

1.2             Slave configuration


smoke at slave001:/usr/bin$ cd /var/smokeping/

smoke at slave001:/var/smokeping$ ls

secret.txt

smoke at slave001:/var/smokeping$ cat secret.txt

smoke at slave001:/var/smokeping$

 

To be only one time and not always

cd /usr/sbin 

sudo ./smokeping --master-url=http://10.247.0.51/smokeping/smokeping.cgi
\

             --cache-dir=/var/smokeping/ \

             --shared-secret=/var/smokeping/secret.txt

 

 

smoke at slave001:/usr/sbin$ sudo ./smokeping
--master-url=http://10.247.0.51/smokeping/smokeping.cgi
--cache-dir=/var/smokeping/
--shared-secret=/var/smokeping/secret.txt

WARNING: Opening secrets file /etc/smokeping/smokeping_secrets:
Permission denied

 

ERROR: we did not get config from the master. Maybe we are not
configured as a slave for any of the targets on the master ?
