[smokeping-users] Alert state storage on smokeping restarts?

Hi,
We are using smokeping alterting, yet when the smokeping daemon is
restarted it will 'reset' the alerting states, starting from all over
again.
Since we are using long-lived alerts (3h downtime for example), loosing
this state information is a bit of an inconvenience, as worst case the
trigger will be received 3h later again or we are losing the message that a
host came back up.
Is is possible to store the state somehow and/or easy to hack the feature
into the code?
Best regards/Met vriendelijke groet/Mit freundlichem Gruß,
