[mrtg] time warp error

I changed the date of my mrtg server in order to complete some Y2K
testing, and started getting the following errors:

Rateup ERROR: /home/pwoll/bin//rateup found that glp1rtr.1's log file
time of 946714205 was greater than now (942783301)
ERROR: Let's not do the time warp, again. Logfile unchanged.

How can I get mrtg working again?  If possible, I would like to preserve
the previous historical data.
