hmm... that last message was from wspingpropack...  I get this from
snmputil:

C:\NTRESKIT>snmputil get 10.1.254.99 public 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1
Variable = system.sysUpTime.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1
Value    = TimeTicks - 17686035

now I'm really confused....

I have used MRTG for over a year now... but this is the first time it is
choking on me...
