[mrtg] $namestring $name

The statistics were last updated Wednesday, 5 April 2000 at 10:17 ,
at which time 'RTRXXX01>' had been up for 239 days, 19:05:54.

That > sign shouldn't be in there.  This is version 2.8.12 on hpux 10.20, gcc, perl 5.004.
I've traced it in the mrtg file to this variable called $namestring which comes from $name.
But I'm not sure where the > gets added, so I'm not sure where to 'chop'.

any help would be greatly appreciated....
