Hello

I really try to find the bug of the peaks I always get and can't find it. It seems that the bug is in 14all.cgi but I'm not exactly shure.

I have again a peak from today in our graph. The following is the mrtg.cfg of this router:

Directory[xxx.2]: routerx
Target[xxx.2]: 2:community at xxx
RouterUptime[xxx.2]: community at xxx
AbsMax[xxx.2]: 32000
MaxBytes[xxx.2]: 32000
Title[xxx.2]: Intranet Primary
PageTop[xxx.2]: <H1>Traffic Analysis for S11
 </H1>
 <TABLE>
   <TR><TD>System:</TD><TD>xxx in Customer</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>Maintainer:</TD><TD>XXX</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>Interface:</TD><TD>S11 </TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>IP:</TD><TD>x.x.x.x</TD></TR>
   <TR><TD>Max Speed:</TD>
       <TD>256 Kbps</TD></TR>
  </TABLE>

The following is the part of the xxx.2.rrd which should contain this peak (1.4Mbps !!). But I have (only) 157Kbps !!:

                        <!-- 2000-11-30 16:55:00 CET --> <row><v> 5.4505249386e+
03 </v><v> 1.3321359453e+04 </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:00:00 CET --> <row><v> 7.1685311946e+
04 </v><v> 1.5779917707e+05 </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:05:00 CET --> <row><v> 1.0974246943e+
04 </v><v> 2.3495064815e+04 </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:10:00 CET --> <row><v> 5.9350739330e+
03 </v><v> 8.6249003146e+03 </v></row>

Also I have a limitation in the xxx.2.rrd file:

        <ds>
                <name> ds0 </name>
                <type> COUNTER </type>
                <minimal_heartbeat> 600 </minimal_heartbeat>
                <min> NaN </min>
                <max> 2.5600000000e+05 </max>

                <!-- PDP Status -->
                <last_ds> 3560172671 </last_ds>
                <value> 1.8505929167e+05 </value>
                <unknown_sec> 0 </unknown_sec>
        </ds>

        <ds>
                <name> ds1 </name>
                <type> COUNTER </type>
                <minimal_heartbeat> 600 </minimal_heartbeat>
                <min> NaN </min>
                <max> 2.5600000000e+05 </max>

Interesting is that after a killspike.pl on this xxx.2.rrd file I get the following values at the peak position (and the peak is gone):

                        <!-- 2000-11-30 16:55:00 CET --> <row><v> 5.4505249386e+
03 </v><v> 1.3321359453e+04 </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:00:00 CET --> <row><v> NaN </v><v> Na
N </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:05:00 CET --> <row><v> 1.0974246943e+
04 </v><v> 2.3495064815e+04 </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:10:00 CET --> <row><v> 5.9350739330e+
03 </v><v> 8.6249003146e+03 </v></row>
                        <!-- 2000-11-30 17:15:00 CET --> <row><v> 1.0058006216e+
04 </v><v> 7.8055277324e+03 </v></row>

Maybe someone can tell me why I get a higher peak (1.2Mbps) in the graph but I can't find this value in the xxx.2.rrd file ?????

By the way:

I'm using MRTG 2.8.12 and RRD 1.0.28. I'm planning to upgrade to 2.9.4 MRTG.

Thanks a lot for any possible help.
