you do not have to use the oids. you can just use the interface index.

for example switch is "e-switch.x.com". with "sho port 1/1" you find out that the interface-index of port 1/1 is 3, so the command would be:
target[e-switch]: 3:password at e-switch.x.com
or if to be seen as from the station on the port:
target[e-switch]: -3:password at e-switch.x.com

Betreff: [mrtg] Cisco 6500 switch port monitoring?

I am trying to figure out the object ID scheme used to read the traffic on
specific switch ports of a Cisco Catalyst 6509 switch, with nine 48 port 10/100
cards. The 200 page MIB quick reference guide from Cisco is a bit cryptic to
parse out.

I got as far as 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1 I think, is anyone monitoring individual
switch ports for traffic? How do to specify a card/port combination?

Nick
