I have found that I have to use a fully qualified path to the perl script. 
E.G. `/usr/local/mrtg-2/get-as5200 public@"Router's IP" 39 7`

Also, are those quotes surrounding your command line or back-ticks? Don't 
forget, they need to be back-ticks.
