[mrtg] Interface UP/Down problems

I am running MRTG 2.8.10 on an NT 4.0 workstation. I am monitoring ISDN BRI
lines for an up/down status. You will see my config below. In this
scenario, if MRTG returns a 0, it means the interface is down. If it
returns a 1, it is up. The two issues I am running into are:
1 - I want to receive a 0 at all times as the BRI's are backup interfaces.
Therefore, I set my ThreshMaxI=0 and then the ThreshProgI=..... I bring the
interface up and I don't get an e-mail. Out of curiosity, I set the
ThreshMaxI= -1 and I will get an e-mail stating that the actual value=1 and
the breach value= 1??? Does MRTG not recognize 0?
2 - Just for testing, I set my ThreshMinI=10 so I could find out what values
were being returned. I can take the interface down and it returns 0 saying
it is less than 10. Ok. Bring the interface up. I have scheduling
software (MRTG Scheduler) that runs as a service and I set it to poll every
1 minute. After bringing the interface up, it has taken up to 10 minutes
before I get an e-mail saying the actual value=1??? Each poll in between
returns an e-mail saying the value is 0. Looking at the graph I have:
Max Up/Down : 1 Average Up/Down : 1 Current Up/Down : 1
Once they all hit one, on the next poll, I get the e-mail saying the actual
value =1. Sometimes, however, even though the interface is up (which I know
is 1), it will continue to tell me it is 0. Is it possible that MRTG is
caching this somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated:
I am using software from www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc (Garth Williams) to do the
notification part.
