This is probably none of my business, but, why would you want to graph how
many times someone logs in, or the number of msgs? I mean, if you're using
plain old MRTG, and you have 50 users, that's 25 separate graphs (since you can
only put 2 per graph) for the first option, or 50 different graphs for your
second option. That's just insane.
Personally, I would graph the amount of (total) messages that go out
through POP, something that 'mailstats' will report for you.
But, answering your question, if you really want to graph the login count
per user, you're going to have to parse the log file outside of MRTG and feed
the result back to it. Not something I would want to do, specially not when my
log files are generally in excess of 100+Mb per week.
