[mrtg] Re: Catalyst 6509

Well I am monitoring the same devices and I do monitor some switch ports
(interested ones). And when I read the variable with OID:
interfaces.ifTable.ifDescr.x (where x is the some specific port) I can see
all my Gigabit ethernet and FastEthernet Port descriptioins. It seems to me
that your target is router engine of the catalyst instead of the sc0
interface of the Catalyst switch.

(Maybe this link can help you:

upcfg.htm).

Best regards,

Robert Majksner

I have a Catalyst 6509 switch. When I run cfgmaker it outputs all the
information and everything works great. The problem I have run into is that
cfgmaker only see's my VLAN's. I'd like to graph bytes sent/received on a
per port basis. Here is the results of my findings.

snmpwalk of .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10 shows:
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.2 = 0
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.3 = 610447559
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.4 = 597971294
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.5 = 31773126
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.6 = 31753842
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifInOctets.7 = 0
These are my VLANS.

I generated a text file by walking from .1 I picked through it and the only
thing I could see that even remotely looked like what I wanted was this.
at.atTable.atEntry.atIfIndex.3.1.172.24.150.18 = 3
at.atTable.atEntry.atPhysAddress.3.1.172.24.150.18 =  Hex: 00 01 02 CC A6 3A

at.atTable.atEntry.atNetAddress.3.1.172.24.150.18 = IpAddress: 172.24.150.18
ip.ipNetToMediaTable.ipNetToMediaEntry.ipNetToMediaIfIndex.3.172.24.150.18 =
3
ip.ipNetToMediaTable.ipNetToMediaEntry.ipNetToMediaPhysAddress.3.172.24.150.
18 = 0:1:2:cc:a6:3a
ip.ipNetToMediaTable.ipNetToMediaEntry.ipNetToMediaNetAddress.3.172.24.150.1
8 = IpAddress: 172.24.150.18
ip.ipNetToMediaTable.ipNetToMediaEntry.ipNetToMediaType.3.172.24.150.18 =
dynamic(3)

It looks as though it has some information on ports referenced by the IP
address attached to them. This is a valid IP on my network. Even such it
would be virtually impossible to get device information based on knowing the
IP attached to it. As it may be this was the only thing I could find. No
reference to bandwidth utilization. Any information you guys can give?

This is the information from a sh ver
