It seems that you didn't copy the files to the location where
the new MRTG is looking for them.
On the old box:
1) Keep MRTG running for a while, until you're sure everything
works as expected
On the new box:
1) clean up, remove the log files.
2) search for any unexpected log file and go to 1 while you find them.
3) setup the new box to monitor.
4) search for the log files, make sure you are finding the current
log files and not any leftovers which should have been discovered
at #2. If my assumption is right they will be in a different place
than you think they are.
5) copy the log files over from the old box to the new box, not to the
location from #4.
6) wait until just after a run. Do NOT wait a long time, just one run.
7) copy, or move, the files from #5 to the location from #4.
Steps 5..7 are to prevent log file corruption and/or overwriting
the history with empty log files.
