The combination of MRTG and 14all.cgi does not, as far as I know,
lift this restriction. However, it will work approximately the
same as your existing MRTG. The big difference is generating the
graphics, MRTG does this every time while 14all does this on demand.

When you've succesfully migrated to MRTG+RRDtool you'll be logging
your data into RRD files. 14all.cgi is a front-end to RRDtool that
generates the graphics on the fly when you ask for them.

In stead of 14all you could use any other front end. Further more,
these front ends can be in any language you like. The only thing
necessary is being able to call "rrdtool graph image.png ..." from
your front-end.

There's nothing stopping you from using 14all for the day to day
monitoring, while using another front end (such as your own) to
generate custom made images.

When you create your front-end, you are able to say (for instance)
that it should take the first datasource from database 1, the third
DS from DB 2, the first and second from DB 3. These DSes can then
be graphed in a single image, stacked if you wish. The legend can
display each DS and/or the grand total.

There may very well be an existing front end that does just what you
need. I really don't know. I suggest looking at the rrdtool home
page and follow the links to the known existing front ends.

cheers,
