I have this book open on my desk almost all the time:

http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/esnmp/

Great reading for someone who actually likes this kind of stuff.

Other books I can see sitting on my shelf that I use occasionally:

Network Management A Practical Perspective
Network Protocol Handbook
Understanding SNMP MIBs
SNMP Network Management (an advanced SNMP book)
Snmpv3 Survival Guide : Practical Strategies for Integrated Network Management

I've got some others, but these are the ones I like to use.

I have just started to use MRTG and rrdtool to monitor various switches and routers, and some servers. Currently, I am only monitoring ins and outs, and eventually want to get more info from all my equipment.

I would like to get myself more knowledgeable in the area of SNMP and MIBs.

Anyone have any advice on any books that are worthwhile for an SNMP/MIB newbie.

Thanks.
