[mrtg] MRTG dying every few days

hi all

Searched the archives but no luck...

Running mrtg with ActivePerl on NT4 and using MRTGStatsUpdater

Every coupla days mrtg dies, at which point event viewer spews out a series
of messages (every 5 minutes of course) "...check the value of updatepath in
the registry". After stopping/restarting the MrtgStatsUpdater service,
everything's back to normal again...

Huh? Why would it work fine for 2 or 3 days then go belly-up? Ideas?
