[mrtg] mrtg - how to just create the graphs from a generate logfile ?

I have been using MRTG for a few years to graph mostly network items.
Probably have over 1000 graphs being generated... 'tis way cool (hey... I
sent some cd's! :-)
a question:
I have a need to be able to generate the graphs myself, preparing the
logfile and then calling some subroutine of mrtg to actually make the
graphs. I can see how to create the logfile, with epoch time followed by
the values. I just don't know how to tell mrtg to "don't expect a value
on input, just recreate the graph based on what is in this logfile"
is it possible to do this? is the executable 14all? or rateup? (sorry -
I'm guessing).
I am running mrtg 2.8.12 on windows NT server. any suggestions or
command line examples much appreciated
thanks
