short answer to your question:
MIBs from the vendors. they will have info about cpu/disk/memory/etc...
on the windoz servers you will have to setup snmp to get info
hope that helps for a beginning!

Subject: [mrtg] Monitor not just BW
Hello all. I'm newbie in this mrtg stuff, I'm working with some 3com 3800,
1100 and 4400 switches, also cisco 3550 and 2950, HP Procurve 2524, a bunch
of Win2K servers, and two digital(oldies) servers. Almost forget one linux
box. Now I want to monitor a lot of things from each and every one of these
devices, I use cfgmaker and right now I'm only able to monitor the bandwidth
of each switch port. Now,
What do you recommend I need to do in order to monitor all these devices?
Do I need to download specific MIBs?
Do I need to install something on the servers?
What about the Digitals, can they be monitored also?
How can I monitor not just BW but also CPU, memory, etc of all these
devices?
Thanks in advance and apologize for sending multiple questions in one
message
