[mrtg] Can't get MRTG to monitor NET-SNMP

I'm trying to use MRTG 2.9.17 to monitor NET-SNMP 4.2.3 on SPARC Solaris
2.6. I know MRTG works, because I get a working configuration when I
point cfgmaker at one of my Cisco switches. When I do the same for one
of my NET-SNMP Solaris boxes, the graphs are all blank, and all of the
numerical values are 0.0 on the web page. I do, however, see the proper
numbers in the MRTG *.log files, and I've also checked the MRTG
debugging output, so I know I'm getting non-zero values via SNMP. The
line wrapping will mangle it, but here is a config entry that causes
such behavior (generated by cfgmaker, but I changed MaxBytes):

I've also tried to monitor other values from NET-SNMP but have the same
problem. Here is an attempt based on the tutorial on the NET-SNMP page:

Again, I see sane values in the *.log files, but the graphs and HTML
show all zeroes. I've found no references to this problem in my searches
of the news group and mailing list archives. Tell me I'm a bone-head,
but please tell me what I'm doing wrong!
