This is in the category of curious.  TC1A-C2924M-0 is a Catalyst 2924M with
a fibre Gigabit Ethernet module used to connect to the campus backbone.  The
unit was installed 3 years ago and has been monitiored since installation
using MRTG.

This morning MRTG began sending the following message.  The initial thought
was that there had been a power failure in our building; however, this was
the only switch reporting a problem.  All of our switches are in telephone
closets and tend to fail simultaneously as they did 57 days ago.

An examination of the log files generated by MRTG indicate that it was only
the Gigabit Ethernet module that was affected.  With all counters being
recorded as 0 until I issued a reload command to the switch.  The module is
and was operational during the entire episode.  SNMP appears to be the only
function of the switch that was affected.

Has anyone experienced or observed a Catalyst 2924 stop responding to SNMP
while remaining, otherwise, operational?  If so, is this indicative of some
future problem?
