Maybe not exactly what you want, but have you tried "kMG[10.10.10.10]:

This should leave out all prefixes.

Neither forces the unit multiplier (or whatever you want to call it).
For example on a T1 connection that I monitor with the bits option set,
I get the following mixture of kb/s and b/s:
Max In: 774.1 kb/s Average In: 93.0 kb/s Current In: 24.8 kb/s
Max Out: 318.9 kb/s Average Out: 10.5 kb/s Current Out: 4384.0 b/s
