I do not find that to be true at all. I call templates for many
different things ( whether it be a interface or host template) in my
installation. You do have to modify the template, if you are trying to
monitor multiple instances of something, such as multiple CPU's.

The Somix 'templates' were made long before the introduction of the
templates directive/option was included with MRTG. These templates are
intended to be copied/pasted into your config files, not called from the
MRTG command.
