[mrtg] Make MRTG put output on mapped drive

I am trying to use a shared folder from another computer, mapped to the 
computer running MRTG, as the "Workdir" location to make MRTG put the 
output on that machine where it will be used. When I try this MRTG doesn't 
record any new data and the lock file is not deleted.

Is this possible? Is it not recommended?
