If performance is an issue, I'd recommend you use speedycgi. The latest
version (v2.13a) of routers2.cgi will work with speedycgi, if you have perl
5.8 and make a couple of modifications -- there are instructions in the
HOWTO documentation. Basically, you change a few variable definitions to
'Our()' instead of 'my()' and put the speedycgi line at the top. This made
a serious performance gain on our site. Even if you only have perl 5.6 or
earlier, then you can still use speedycgi but with -r1 as an option. This
gains you some performance, but not so much as with perl 5.8.
