[mrtg] IP problem

Hi,

i'm having a progmel making mrtg.cfg...

darius:~# /usr/bin/cfgmaker public@$1 --global "workdir: /home/mrtg/public_html/$1 " --output /etc/mrtg/$1.cfg
--base: Get Device Info on public at public@:
Error:
  can't resolve "" to IP address
 at /usr/share/perl5/SNMP_util.pm line 423
SNMPWALK Problem for public at public@:
 at /usr/bin/cfgmaker line 712

what could be the problem, and how to solve it?
i have 2 LAN cards in server, one is functional, other is even not
configured..
